A Fleurty Thirty Celebration

I’m sure you’re here for Khang’s awesome video he made of our vacation in Turks and Caicos Islands!

Keep on scrolling down after the video if you want to read more details about our trip.

So here it is!

This was more than a vacation. It actually was a double birthday celebration!

We were celebrating my sister-in-law, Ngoc, and cousin-in-law, Kim Oanh, both turning 30!

YES, they were both born on the same day, December 23rd! Kim Oanh arrived during the day and Ngoc came along later that evening.

They call each other “twin cuzzies”. How precious right?!

Khang and I don’t normally prefer beach destinations because we get bored so easily with the sand, but Turks and Caicos was the perfect island for us. Especially with our sweet family!

The thing I love most about TCI is how undeveloped it is.

Now this might sound weird to some, but this means it isn’t littered with highrises (that obstruct views), souvenir shops, and franchises.

Which is the best to me because it keeps the true beauty and upholds the vibrant culture of the gorgeous island territories!

We went to nearly 10 different beach nooks and each one was unique to itself!

We technically went during peak-season, but goshhhh it felt like we nearly had each place to ourselves.

This website was the best source of info for me if you’re interested or planning a trip in the future!

In my opinion, a few absolute musts:

catch the breathtaking sunrises (more than once!),

put your phone or camera down and just take it all in,

dine at Mango Reef Restaurant (black truffle scallops FTW!),

dance your heart out at Danny Buoy’s,

rent a car to get around (big money savings + prepare for left-side driving)

grab a bite and take in the views for an unbelieveable experience at Bugaloos Beach. Y’all, we literally had a table in the water, feet in the sand, and ate conch!

sing “Part of Your World” while searching for seashells!

Just a few snapshots from our amazing trip!

Gindrew Elopement

Rewind to roughly two months ago when my sister, Ginni, called me to ask if I would help plan her courthouse wedding in Las Vegas.

Of course, I excitedly said, “YES!”

Ginni causally mentioned hiring a photographer and quickly squeezed in they thought of asking me to take photos but declined that notion because they wanted me to enjoy the ceremony and not stress.

Um.

Immediately, I asked for more details of the day and very strongly volunteered my services. Hah. And Khang’s! (more on that later)

Maybe I’m biased, but this is probably one of my “Top Three” favorite sessions-to-date.

After their very sweet and intimate ceremony in front of 15 witnesses, the new Mr. and Mrs. decided to take their offical “married photos” at the very beautiful Red Rocks about 20 minutes away.

And my oh me, I was the luckiest to been able to capture it all!

But let’s start with some pre-ceremony shots. I could do an entire post on just all the lovely little details alone.

My brilliant and creative genius of a sister, Jill of OMAC, is responsible for all the calligraphy and handlettering designs.

I knew exactly how I wanted to take these photos when I saw all the cacti in the yard of our Airbnb.

Each guest had their very own wooden namecard and Marvel action figure with a personal quote from that hero.

The bride and groom loved it all!!

You can check out their Marvel-themed engagement session too!

Okay, if you’re not into all the casinos and city hustle…drive 20 minutes out to Red Rocks for a beautiful scenic drive and hike one of the many trails if you’re feeling up to it!

I definitely would have if I did not have sandals on.

Oh yes, Jill designed their “book elopement announcement” too!

Y’all, how freaking gorgeous right?!?!

I died. Died. After seeing these scans for the first time!

I think my favorite part of the day was when Andrew finally put Ginni’s wedding ring on her finger.

She could not wait to wear it and was so so happy and giddy when he vowed it on.

Here is their video that my crazy talented husband put together for yhe newlyweds!

. Absolutely done with these two.

Well until they ask me to photograph them again. Hah!

You know the saying, “Love loves to love love”?

Well that’s me times 100.

And then when you see it on film…

Done.

I’m done.

Jules.

Beach camping in Grayton

Khang has been working his video magic and has officially made his first guest appearance on WithJules today!

Pictures are great for memories, but gosh, so is video and it just takes it to a different level.

Here’s his video of us camping with our friends in Grayton last month.

Please watch in highest quality-preferably in 4K.

Enjoy!

So we started camping at Grayton State Beach Park about 5 years ago and have been trying to go back every year since.

The camping grounds are only a 8-10 minute bike ride to Seaside, which is THE cutest little beach town.

We love it so much.

And we kinda got our buddies into it too.

Our group went back this past April and it felt so good to be back.

I love exploring town on bikes, dancing and story-telling around the campfire, and falling asleep underneath the stars.

I made reservations more than 6 months in advance and highly recommend sites #14, 16, and 18 since they have private access to Western Lake.

Or choosing sites #15 or 17 for direct pathways to the bathrooms.

We own all the camping gear needed so it only cost the 7 of us a total of $60 to rent the campsite for two nights. There are even electric outlets and hot showers.

If that still seems too rough for you, then we met this sweet couple celebrating their anniversary with Fancy Camps and y’all, their set-up was the absolute cutest!

Complete with a queen size mattress, AC unit, and even twinkle lights hanging on their tent for a wonderful glamping experience.

We like to rent bikes since it’s easier to get to places. Parking sucks at Seaside. Big Fish delivers and picks up your bikes right at your campsite.

with us,

Jules+Khang.

PS. Special shout-out to our awesome friends, Francis+Tran, Augustine+Haley, Cecilia+Ramsey, and Brian+Ashley, who got us a badass drone as our wedding gift.

We hope to share more videos in the future!
